Overall, the food was ok, but manager and staff during Friday lunch buffet were so extremely kind, friendly and works hard to always have food replenished. The manager accommodated a large group for the buffet area to side together on one side. Will come back for buffet or a drink at the bar for the kind staff. They have huge event space in the back also

We had pork belly sinigang, bangus sisig, pancit bami, and crispy calamari. Crispy calamari was a bit hard to chew though. But other than that, everything's good. Staff were nice too. We enjoyed our drinks at the bar. We had mango margharita, lychee martini and long island iced tea. The band was good but not my kind of music. My friends had fun.

Came here on a Friday night with a reservation at 6:00pm. We were running "Filipino time" since we had to return a rental car, and they were accepting of the 30 minute time change the same day. Upon walking in, you can tell it's an older style ballroom venue. Table cloths, chandeliers, carpeted floors. We ordered the following: Beef bulalo: I so needed this after a long nauseating car ride. The bone broth was perfection as were the cabbages, green beans, and sweet corn. The only disappointment was that the shank was so tough... Miki- bihon: I guess I count my lucky stars that this tasted basic? It tasted like it was home cooked for a Filipino party. Everything well-seasoned to what I know bihon to be. No complaints Bangus sisig: This one is tied for my second favorite dish! Super flavorful and not too salty. Comes out fresh, piping hot! Pork inihaw Not my favorite, though I'm not the biggest pork eater. To me it was quite dry. I appreciated the charred grill marks and the sawsawan (dipping vinegar) Tofu & eggplant binagoongan This one was a pleasant surprise. I usually associate Filipino food with meat, fatty oils, and vinegar, and not quite tofu. The bagoong-- shrimp paste-- really brought the dish together. Tofu was cooked perfectly, and the eggplant soaked up all the sauce. We wanted to order more for our party of 6, but our waitress honestly said we ordered enough since the portions are large -- prices are higher for that reason; it's family style: We ordered steamed rice (don't count your carbs!! Just enjoy) and they gave us two large bowls. We mentioned that we had two milestone birthdays, and they provided candles on top of ice cream along side a halo-halo inside a buko coconut! It was very sweet of the staff, and I was so very stuffed afterwards. Have a party of 4 or more craving Filipino food near south SF? Definitely give Fort McKinley a shot!

I went to an event here July of last year. It was a pretty big party, so there were tables set up kinda wedding style. What would have been the dance floor area was used for games. The stage was set up with a backdrop for pictures. Very pretty. Food wise, I hadn't had Filipino food in a while, so I enjoyed everything. Gimme that lumpia, lechon, sisig, etc. My mouth is kinda watering thinking about it. The food was set up buffet style, so I just waited out the line a bit before I got my plate. Great place for an event. If you're happy with the food here, I'd definitely recommend. REVIEW #3515
